About me.....

My name is Paula, and I live in Huntsville, Alabama, with my husband and sometimes with my two children (they are in college).  I completed the Certified Zentangle® Teacher seminar in February of 2011 to be certified to teach.

I enjoy all things crafty.  I love art.  I love painting, especially watercolor.  I love to tangle.  I discovered Zentangle and was hooked.  It is not only fun to do, it is great for stress relief and relaxation.

What is Zentangle?

Zentangle is an art form.  It is an easy to learn method of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is fun and relaxing. It increases focus and creativity. Zentangle provides artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well being. Zentangle is enjoyed by a wide range of skills and ages and is used in many fields of interest.  Zentangle was developed by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts.  To read more about the development of Zentangle, please visit the official website at www.zentangle.com .

Advantages of Zentangle...

Picture
  • You can make beautiful works of art.  Frame them.  Make homemade cards.  Tangle your shoes and your shopping bags.  Make gifts for friends.
  • You don't need any particular artistic talent.  If you can hold a pen, you can tangle.
  • Zentangle can help get those creative ideas flowing.
  • It's portable.  Keep a few tiles and a pen and pencil in your purse.
  • Waiting for the doctor?  Soccer practice taking longer than usual?  You can complete a Zentangle in 15 minutes.  Don't have 15 minutes?  Put it away and come back to it later.
  • There is no set plan.  No two  are ever the same.  Anyone can do it!
  • It is an inexpensive hobby.  You only need paper, a pen, and a pencil.
  • It is appropriate for any age.
  • It improves hand/eye coordination.
  • It improves concentration.
  • It relieves stress.
  • It improves sleep.

Come on, give it a try.  It's fun!   I dare you not to become obsessed!
